Danish modern Silver Medal in brilliant uncirculated condition (prooflike). Issued to commemorate the life Christian IV - King of Denmark and Norway between 1588 and 1648. His portrait appears on the obverse of the medal aboard the ship Trinity leading his fleet in the Battle of Colberger Heide. He is depicted holding his eye which he lost during the battle due to an exploding cannon nearby. The reverse design features a helmeted shield held aloft by two lions rampant. Mint mark (DKM) beneath the left lion, silver fineness (.925) on shield. Undated. The medal comes with a plastic capsule. Struck by the Danish Royal Mint in .925 Sterling Silver. It has a 36mm diameter and weighs 27.2 grams (ASW .8090 oz troy).
